Beyond a club — growth and inspiration
Why the Caracals?
Golnoor is more than a team — it is a path from fundamentals to Super League competition. Players, coaches, families and fans grow together through disciplined training, team culture and a long view of championship basketball.
Active across age groups with a Super League senior team, Golnoor develops young talent and builds a healthy championship culture.

Since 2016, Golnoor has climbed from academy floors to the national stage. The Caracals stand for focus, speed and Isfahani pride.

Iran’s wildlife and our responsibility
The caracal is a wild cat of Iran, known for its black ear tufts and long leaps. Its home is desert mountains, hills and dry ground where suitable vegetation still holds.
The species is tied to Isfahan’s nature too. ISNA reported its identification in Aran va Bidgol. For an Isfahani club, the name “Caracals” recalls a real animal in this climate, not only a sports label.
The caracal depends on dry habitat and its food chain. If those lands are fragmented or prey grows scarce, it has nowhere left. Protecting the ecosystem is the condition of its survival.
On the global IUCN list the caracal is classed as Least Concern, yet the Cat Specialist Group of the same body describes Iran’s population as declining and under threat. Across Asia, habitat loss and fragmentation add pressure. In Iran, road accidents, killings after conflict with livestock keepers and attacks by dogs also take caracals’ lives.
Golnoor chose the name for focus and agility in play. The name is complete only when the team emblem is seen as a living animal whose habitat is under pressure.
Respect for “the Caracals” means protecting its natural home. Do not leave litter in the wild. Keep distance from wild animals and heed wildlife-crossing warnings on the roads. Basketball can open a window onto this part of Iran’s wildlife.
