The owners of will and honor; The honoring ceremony of the wheelchair basketball team's Golnoor was held
A ceremony was held to honor the Golnoor wheelchair basketball team, which recently claimed the national league championship.
The event was attended by team members and the technical staff. At the beginning, head coach Mohammad Pourmoghadam presented a report on the national competitions. Referring to the challenges and hardships along the road to the title, he spoke of the players’ unparalleled determination and dedication, noting that in the final, with only one minute and 20 seconds left, Golnoor managed to make up the deficit and deservedly claim the championship.
Champions who broke the boundaries of ability
Mohammad Amini said at the ceremony: 'These athletes are not only champions on the court, but also symbols of courage and strength. Despite difficult conditions, they chose sport and, with exemplary willpower, brought honor to the country.' He also pointed to the efforts of the province’s veterans and disabled persons’ federation and expressed appreciation for the love and devotion shown in serving these dear individuals.
He continued, referring to the challenges facing the country’s industry and the decline in government support for sports teams: 'Unfortunately, economic conditions and the lack of support have left no incentive for industrial team ownership. While in developed countries industrialists receive tax incentives for supporting sports, in Iran there is not only no support, but numerous obstacles destroy sponsors’ motivation.'
He added: 'Despite all these problems, Golnoor company has been able to continue on the path to success. Last year, various club teams, including the youth team, the first-division league team, and the wheelchair basketball team, all achieved great honors. We hope that with improved economic conditions we can provide more support for sports.'
Supporting champions: Golnoor’s enduring mission
Asghar Amini, founder of Golnoor company, spoke at the ceremony of tears of joy over the team’s successes and said: 'All our effort is to provide effective support for you. Choosing the name Golnoor Sadra for the holding reflects our belief in leading in every field, and today we are happy to see this goal realized.'
Mohammad Mehrshad also emphasized in his remarks: 'I congratulate you on this championship, but the main congratulations go to your will and resolve. You are the strongest men in Iran, and we are proud of you.'
Hamidreza Chelongar also congratulated the team on its championship and stressed support for athletes with disabilities.
Babagolian, a member of the veterans and disabled persons’ federation, while thanking Golnoor company for supporting athletes with disabilities, expressed hope that the team would shine even brighter in national and international arenas.
At the end of the ceremony, gifts were presented to all team members and the technical staff in appreciation, creating a sweet memory of this proud night for Golnoor’s champions.
